We will now only be accepting deposits once puppies are born. Once approved for an Idlewild puppy,  we request a $250.00 deposit to reserve and hold a  puppy. Puppy pick is in order of deposit received. You will choose your puppy (with our help) on the day you are scheduled to pick up your puppy. Anyone who is using pet transport or who cannot come on scheduled day can pick by picture, or I will choose for you. Deposit is then deducted from total price due upon puppy pick-up. Because I reserve a puppy for you (and turn away other potential families) your deposit is non-refundable unless we do not get color/sex requested in which case your deposit will carry over to the next litter or be refunded to you. When your check arrives  I will send you an email comfirmation that you are on the list, and advise of what number you are in the pick order.

We always reserve the right to hold first litter pick male and female for our show/breeding program.

    SHIPPING 

For door-to-door personalized pet transport (usually for the same price or less than flying) we can now recommend Polly's Pet Transport, out of Hickory, NC. She has weekly schedules; more information and rates can be found here: www.pollyspettransport.com

We currently do not fly puppies as cargo. We do however, have several folks each litter who fly in to pick up their puppy, and fly out with him in the cabin with them! It is usually less expensive to get a discount airline ticket 14-21 days in advance than it costs to ship a puppy by cargo anywhere in the United States. If you choose this option, you can make flight reservations to fly in to Nashville, (BNA), and then rent a car right at the airport for the hour scenic drive to our address. The airport handles most major carriers. The information they will need is that you will be flying with an 8 week old Labrador puppy, which will be under 20 lbs, and you will be using a mesh or sherpa carrier that fits under the seat in the cabin.  We will be sure you have all health information for your pup to fly on the plane.  Please check with your preferred airline for crate sizes and restrictions.

Checklist for the "adventure" is:

• Tell your chosen airline you will be flying with your pet, an 8 week old puppy, you will have an Interstate Health certificate, and the puppy will weigh under 20 pounds. 
   
  Order an airline approved mesh or sherpa carrier bag. make sure it will accomodate a 15-20 lb puppy, and meets airline recommendations.
   
  Bring with you: several gallon size zip-loc bags (for messes and spills), baby wipes, two hand towels,  treats, bottled  water.
